How many times have we heard people say “Venice is the most beautiful city in the world”?
It seems a catchfrase, a conventional form of labeling such an uncommon place that for many tourists it completely loses its sense of city, taking on the appearance of an attraction. For those who, like me, were born and grew up among its streets, this phrase undertake a completely different meaning. Continue reading “MY VENICE BY ELEONORA”
Behind Venice is a project that aims to help, totally free of charge and voluntarily, the Venetian Artisans. Behind Venice provides artisans with a starting kit for their digital communication, in order to generate an archive of photos and videos of their works and shops (bóteghe) and an interactive map in which all the craft activities will be indicated.
Since the beginning, one of the main purposes of our blog was to share the beauty of Venice from other points of view: not only the main touristic attractions, but the real life of Venice which is, first of all, a community.
These are very strange days, everybody is at home and nobody can go out because of a Virus that is influencing our life and our habits. But Grand Ball La Fenice is my last wonderful memory of a Venice full of energy!
I have to admit that I’ve never been at “La Fenice” before, so I was really thrilled when Atelier Tiepolo invited us at this amazing event.
Venice in pattern is the unique literature, photography and pattern design project entirely dedicated to Venice.
The project has been launched on Instagram in 2018 with the aim of getting Venice closer to both locals and foreign people, using a simple language. I think that this article is going to be extremely personal and subjective. I know that the purpose of our blog is to describe Venice, illustrating the most wonderful experience that you can have there, giving advise about the more interesting places in the city… the fact is that as an Italian, as a person who was used to live Venice everyday, as someone who has beloved ones who works in healthcare, I feel like it’s important to take advantage of this fantastic tool that allows me to spread, for once, my experience due to the Coronavirus emergency.
In the last few hours, Italy has been the centre of the global attention.
We all know about the Coronavirus, a new illness that originates from China and is now frightening the whole world.
Unfortunately, Italy is, by datas, one of the more affected areas on the planet.
The COVID-19, which didn’t seem to represent a big risk until two days ago, has infected more than 100 people in the North of Italy, and the number is increasing.
Institutions still don’t know why this explosion of cases has been spreading so suddenly, but that’s why measures of security and precautions have been immediately taken.
