FLO ‘S ERASMUS EXPERIENCE IN VENICE

In an Erasmus experience, you cry twice:  when you arrive and when you leave.
In an Erasmus experience in Venice you keep crying even years after …I am Flo, I am French and I spent one year in Venice thanks to the Erasmus program. It has been the best year of my life so far …
One day, a Venetian told me: it’s either you love it or you hate it.
Being a tourist in Venice is so different than living there. Indeed, it is special only because Venice is special. You won’t realize it until you live there for real.
You feel safe, lucky and happy …
Also it’s very different from anywhere else because there is no car (I used to go to Uni by boat… what a dream!)

April is a promise that May is bound to keep” once said Hal Borland. It is quite true. April is not winter and it is not summer, just spring, an unrealized time of change. Continue reading “UNREALIZED VENICE: MASIERI MEMORIAL BY FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT”

COSTANTINI GLASS BEADS – A FAMILY TRADITION AND A NEW AND INNOVATIVE APPROACH

written by Behind Venice, pics by Behind Venice

In this trip called Behind Venice, we will discover the Venetian craftsmanship. The first stop is at the historic glass pearl factory Costantini Glass Beads.
Take the water bus (Vaporetto) and stop at Murano Venier, get off and, first left and then right, you are in Calle del Cimitero, in front of the door of the centennial factory, which since 2006 is owned by Alessandro Moretti, the grandson of Ubaldo Costantini (his great-grandfather) and Cleto Costantini (his grandfather).

TEDxMESTRE: AN HOTBED OF IDEAS AND VALUES FOR VENETIAN TERRITORY

TEDxMestre is a project born in the February of 2019,  in order to bring to Venice the American format of TED conferences, through TEDx events: local events organised in an indipendent way but with the same spirit to tell ideas and values of the territorial community. In just six months, a group of local, young volunteers had been able to build the first edition, dedicated to the topic of ‘awakening’, and which had involved more than 700 people. The chosen location was the modern M9, the new museum in Mestre’s centre.
