A JUMP IN THE PAST – CARNIVAL 2019

[ITALIAN VERSION BELOW]

A jump in the past… and it’s immediately carnival!

Entering the Hotel Danieli is always a thrill, because you wouldn’t expect that fairy-tale entrance looking at the small access door.

On the contrary, like the Harry Potter magic tent, passed that same small wooden door, we find an enchanted salon, so suggestive that it generates a feeling of amazement.

In particular, we are immediately hit by the richness of golden stuccos, this last color is certainly dominant over the rest, richly contrasting with the tall dark marble columns and the light fabric of the seats.

The tables, scattered in the living room without a precise order, break that feeling of absolute perfection, magically combining the sumptuousness of that place with a sense of warm hospitality.venezia carnival

Slowly, savoring with our eyes every second of that vision, we move towards the place of the party: the “Marco Polo” salon, a name evocative of the glories of the past and which we consider to be a good omen for the evening.

As usual, the location does not disappoint, as usual, we feel totally inadequate with our simple cloaks, compared to the perfection of the costumes of about 90 guests present: a true masterpiece of tailoring.

We arrive in the large rectangular hall just in time to see the fish appetizers being served.

We did not have the pleasure of tasting them, but we guarantee that the appearance and, above all the smell, were excellent.

Impressed by that moment, we hardly notice the music that hovers lightly in the air, as an essential element of such a perfect place.

Soon after the appetizers it is time to dance while waiting for the risotto to cook.

Strictly, group dances, as it was in the 700s, a time when dancing was the only way to meet a beautiful girl.venice, enjoy,

Watching them while dancing is also easy to understand why dance was considered the tinder of Casanova’s times.

Every two or three steps everyone changes his partner into a crescendo of increasingly tight and frenetic physical contacts.

“Forward back, change” is the refrain of steps that accompanies the dance.

Easy to lose a step, easy to bump someone, easy to burst into laughter capable of breaking that initial ice that naturally characterizes every human relationship.

Why some things are not done anymore?

Pure art, even if opportunity to meet.

The union of music, costumes and dance creates an atmosphere union difficult to replicate elsewhere.

The music of the strings gives a particularly touching sound, each vibration assumes almost palpable geometries.

Applause, applause and more applause.

And, in the end, all that remains is to enjoy an evening from the past in every sense, as only during the Venetian carnival is possible, rejoicing in the happiness and serenity of others.carnival

This is the tourism we like, where work is not hard, but the pleasure of making such a beautiful experience unique.

Applausi, applausi e ancora applausi.
