Italy is gradually starting to wake up from the long semi-lockdown which has paralyzed the country for the past months. However, things are slowly changing; more and more people are getting vaccinated and the virus, even if it is still around, seems to have weaken a bit. If you arrive in Venice by train, the first place you will see is the Sestiere of Cannaregio (if you don’t remember what a Sestiere is or how Venice is divided read here).
If you don’t have enough time to visit the city, or if you want to see something different than Saint Mark Square, in Cannaregio you can find a lot of nice places.
Ten of them are:
1) Jewish Ghetto : it was the residence of the Jews since the law of 1516. It is surrounded by water and it has only two accesses. Today, you can still find Jewish population and it is a particular area of Venice for the height of houses and for the presence of synagogues.

Moving from Piazza San Marco towards the Canal Grande you will see, on your left, Palazzo Ducale. Palazzo Ducale has been for centuries the political center of the Republic of Venice and, nowadays, it is a wonderful museum full of charm and history.
